The Arts and Cook Books page shows my mother's 'Cajun Bits' note cards.  She started working on them in 1955 when Lafayette and Southwest Louisiana were celebrating the Acadian Bicentennial, the 200 year celebration of the arrival of the Acadians from Nova Scotia to Louisiana.

In 1754 the Mouton family left Acadia Nova Scotia for Louisiana.  Their move became the first recorded migration of Acadians to Louisiana, and the Moutons became the first "Cajuns" (an Americanization of the word Acadian).  My mother's 'Cajun Bits' will be offered here in limited quantities while supplies last.  They are professionally printed from the original drawings.
